A sober Great Plains drive sounds like pure hell. Endless rows of corn and grain.
Straight, flat nothing, interrupted only by podunk towns and fledgling cities. Chain stores and grain silos.
It might be MORE dangerous to do it stone cold sober because the monotony would put you to sleep

Well, i don’t go out at night so there is that.
I’m a day drinker. So, the only way to get me is at like afternoon time frame.
Other than that, I’m in bed during bar hours
