You could be on to something...But if were color adjustment it would be CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black). It could be a tic mark that is used for the computer eye to count the amount of cups that are being printed. But those are usually a solid black rectangular mark.

Definitely an ice fill line. All fast food joints have a line and it’s generally like 2/3rds to the top.
