Uh huh.

I did and I am still. My wife and I don't have to worry about kids yet so we can do whatever we want whenever we want.

Despite the fact you're a self-centered prick, I still sort of feel bad for you because I remember being like you, young and too stupid to realize how stupid I was. So let me help you out. You say you work in "ag", and apparantly do something involved with irrigation systems.
Well let me tell you something about the "ag" business. You see, in my job with Cat, I deal with large mining, aggregate, construction, paving, and forestry and agricultural industries. And I've been in this business since you were in preschool and still getting use to wiping your own arse. I know the cycles of these businesses.
So take my advice. Hard times are coming for you. Of all the industries I deal with, the only one that's more boom and bust than mining is agriculture. When times are great, they're really great. But those good times never last and inevitably the bust comes. So my advice to you is instead of patting yourself on the back and thinking you'll be living high on the hog forever, you'd do better instead to be making plans to survive the slim times that are coming for you. It's not a matter of if, only when.

Does anyone else constantly have poor people (usually a interracial couple with a car full of kids) cut you off when pulling out of a fast food place and proceed to drive 20 mph under the speed limit?
This sounds oddly specific.

maybe if I develop a heroin addiction
You laugh but the truth is you're only one major injury or surgery away from just such a thing happening to you.

Young and arrogant. Already has life figured out.
You don't know shite, and don't know that you don't know shite.
Couple of life lessons from my dad:
- never make fun of people on the way up because you'll see them on the way down
- I've been from the penthouse to the outhouse multiple times; never get too comfortable

yes I do realize Ag is boom bust and I think we are entering a downturn in the next few years. There is a reason why states like Nebraska are doing so poor economically right now and its because the commodities bubble burst, but when the land value bubble bursts, that is going to be where the real pain will be felt, most I know are expecting a similar Farm Crisis like what occurred in the 1980's to happen in the next few years, and if Congress manages to frick up the next Farm Bill (which as God made green apples they will), then a new farm crisis is inevitable in the grain belt.
I do have money saved though, and I do also have other skills too such as welding and being able to repair heavy machinery

I had one drive by today. Missing most of the front end and driving on a donut. Sounded like a jet when it went by guy on phone asked what the hell that noise was.
But I have to worry about my inspection sticker

Laugh all you want. But it happens every day.
1. Successful guy gets sick or has injury requiring pain meds.
2. Guy becomes addicted to meds.
3. Prescription runs out, guy is still addicted though. Has to find a new source.
4. Starts buying pain meds illegally. But they are expensive as shite and he can't afford them for long. Finds cheaper alternative, heroin.
5. Now he's addicted to heroin.
It can and does happen every day to everyday people like you and me.

There's a book called "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k." You should get a copy.
