You probably have a genetic predilection to alcoholism. Do you have a family history of alcoholics?

I have two friends that come from a long line of alcoholics. They both can drink a beer or two and are fine. 4-5 beers and it's like a switch flips in their heads. Blackout, falling down, obnoxious drunk.

I'm kinda like this, but it's all about the surroundings.

If I'm drinking 1 or 2 drinks, it typically means I'm out eating a meal in public or something so it's easy to be aware and keep cool.

If I'm ever in a situation where it's acceptable/not frowned upon to drink 4 or 5 beers, it's usually because I'm at a sporting event, concert, festival, party, pool, etc. In that case, I don't care if I get copmletely trashed.

Sooo...I guess I am perfeclty capable of controlling myself, but usually if I'm at a place where drinking a lot is totally acceptable I will drink as much as I can.

It's all over for Frank The Tank as soon as the alcohol hits his lips. Not after 4 drinks.

That's me too.

did you even read my post?

If I'm somehwhere that it's not cool to get real drunk, I stop myself at 1 or 2.

If I'm at a party or a sporting event where it's acceptable to get real drunk, I will proceed to do so.

It's not complicated.

This.

The last 2 times (it's been awhile) that I got really drunk, but I never black out, was on an empty stomach.

DO NOT DRINK ON AN EMPTY STOMACH! (Unless you really wanna get fricked up)

Yes... Except with shots. If I keep it to one, I'm fine. That second one puts me in a downward spiral.

Yall got some fricking problems. If you can't drink 4 or 5 beers or drinks without blacking out, you need to see a doctor. You should not be able to black out drinking beer, or if you do, it should be at 15-a case. For drinks, it should be 10-15.
