He knows who his daddy is. He has opportunities I didn't have.

I feel like if I give him the opportunities I didn't have and guide into good decisions, I did a good job.

It worked well for my daughter and she is excelling in her field and now getting her doctorate.

College is learning about learning about life and the trade. They will progress and have fun at the same time. Life lessons move them on to better things.

Got a kid there now. Supposed to be like 4000 LSU kids up there in total.

I went when I was at LSU. But we piled in a van and drove to Steamboat and had a blast. Good times.

Now they gotta fly.

That's ok. I know guys who drive up just so they can sell the drugs they bring.

Your kid will have no shortage of pussy, drugs, and liquor if he plays his cards right

So basically it's just like being in Baton Rouge, just colder.

We used to go on the Backpacker trip this week to Aspen. Charter plane, man those were good times. This was before snowboards.

In my opinion it's a bunch of kids taking mom and dad's money to go frick, get high, and maybe ski.

But my opinions skewed because while all my rich friends are up there having a great time I'm back home working.

Take it fwiw

Yep. Backpacker trips were the thing back then. It's changed a lot but the kids will still remember and appreciate the experience the rest of their life.

@1212: Yes, I paid for the trip but the spending money was all on them hustling at 3 gigs during the semester. I think it was a great opportunity.

Not hating one bit on it. If I had the same opportunities I'd be doing the same thing

I'm just jealous I'm not watching girls snort coke of each other's tits.

I get pics though so that's a consolation prize.

I was the Lifestylez rep for my fraternity for 2 years, went as a regular Greek customer 1 year (took the bus that year-what a fun shitshow that was), & my last year as an alum (graduated in December).

Being a rep was infinitely better. So long as you sold 15-20 people (didn't gave to just be your own Greek house) = free trip. Also got to go on 2 of the summer trips to "plan" the ski trips. Telluride & Copper Mountain in the late summer are unbelievably beautiful. All in all I went to Telluride twice, Copper Mountain, Aspen/SnoMass, & Crested Butte.
If you're a decent rep & make friends with the owner of Lifestylez you got to "work" one week for other schools' trip then party all during the LSU trip with VIP access for the live music shows & the other entertainment. We worked 2 years in a row the trip for Arizona, Arizona State, & New Mexico Lobos + a few other schools. ALL of the stories you hear about girls from those schools are 1000% true.
After my 1st year, LSU didn't combine with any other big schools because LSU simply brought more than enough that other big schools couldn't combine. There would be like 15 from 1 small school here or there but they were typically too timid to mingle.
By the 2nd year I was a rep I had made good acquaintances with the bar & restaurant people. They'd all finally clued in to the fact that they seriously had to prepare & plan to be open later than midnight & pre-order for the LSU trips. Year after year LSU's trip set legendary records for closing bars down due to running out of everything. The last 2 years worth of trips were fantastic. Glad Facebook had just launched so I still have all my digital camera pictures from those trips.

I can only imagine what it is like these days with legal marijuana. Things were already so lax between 2003-2007, especially on the slopes.

Easily many of the best memories of my collegiate life.

If you're in a fraternity/sorority or you have the right collection of friends that can afford the trip, I highly recommend applying to be a rep.

is go up the slopes, grab lunch and a beer at the top. Ski down a few times. Go back to the room and get High. Then go out and party for the rest of the night. Then go back to the room and smoke and drink until you pass out. Wake up and do it all over again

sounds awesome

Yes you can go as alumni. I mean, it's better if you're very recent alum & have friends still in undergrad also going.
But if you can get a group of 15-20 alumni that all want to go the same trip, they'll hook you up with that. Or you can go another week when the smaller school groups go.

I know a good sized LSU group would go over Mardi Gras from about 2006-2008. Some people might still do that like them.
