To the OP. I remember the restaurant and how it looked but never ate there.

I don’t have any personal pictures. Googling “old Pontchatrain Beach “ brought up some pictures of the park and beach.

I remember going to the park and swimming at the pool. This would have been 1961 or 1962. IIRC the pool was shut down during desegregation.

I’m going back to bed so I can’t post any of the pictures that I found. Early morning doctor appt.

Just Google and go to images. Each photo will lead to a story with likely more photos.

The “ Wild Mouse “ and the “Big Zephyr “ were my favorites.

One summer one of my cousins and I worked the midway of the amusement park. He worked in the Ski-Ball area and I was working the "Milk Bottle" booth.

We'd catch the St. Claude bus and then transfer to the Elysian Fields bus to get to work and back home.

It was fun as a young teen checking out all the gals heading up and down the midway, but hot as hell in the summer months in that booth that was only open to the front and facing the lake.

As for the Bali Hai Restaurant, my date and I wound up there for my high school Senior Prom. Back then that was a hot spot for teens on prom night.

Yeah did a deep dive in it a while back. Some cool pics of it on the web. It was a really cool place.

The sign is in a private collection in Metairie. That’s all I got.
