If you move to Mississippi you don't have to worry about anymore traffic jams, just potholes!

The roads in MS are much better than Louisiana. But you would actually have to visit MS to know that

IMO, Louisiana was a great place to grow up as a kid (I probably wouldn't say that now though).

I didn't have a bad childhood or anything, but I always wished as a kid I lived in some place that got to experience seasons and an occasional snowfall every winter.

I loved Christmas and hated that I'd wake up Christmas morning and had to throw shorts on

Tennessee, especially East Tennessee, is being invaded by Yankees. Driving costs up even more than other places in the south (probably the same as Texas though)

Income tax > property tax
If Mississippi really does that it would be a bummer. Seems like as it is they are better off than Texas tax wise.

Less regulations than Texas. Lower property taxes by a lot.

Very disappointed. Opened this thread looking for El Gaucho. Not a peep out of that son of a bitch.

Where in LA?

I will go back to the Lake Charles Area. We have a place on the river in moss bluff. I love it down there.

I moved back to LC, Louisiana from Katy, TX with my wife and family after 10 years. We had moved (to Texas) after graduating college. It was fine... just a lot of time spent commuting for the both of us which cut down on family time. Said screw it and picked up and moved back to LA and wish we would have sooner. Job pay for both of us is comparable so that wasn't an issue. The "slower" way of life is perfect for us. Never thought I'd move back to my hometown...but I did. And I don't regret it.

Baton Rouge sure seems full of cars with Texas tags. I guess LSU is the culprit.

100% true.

Mississippi roads suck. But Louisiana roads are just a special kind of suck that only a bloated, incompetent state government could produce. LADOTD has about double the staff they should have, and product far worse results than any surrounding state.
