I'm hearing it's being reported from SLC to Gillis
smells like plastic burning. i'm assuming a plant is on fire but that's a HUGE spread of particulate
*ETA: a poster-friend on FB Said it's going as far east as Iowa
what in the f?

Yea I ran into it in Gillis on my way home from my office. Was thinking maybe a house was on fire somewhere but it wasn't heavy in Moss Bluff about 4:30 when I left.

somebody on FB said CPSO claimed it was a controlled fire at Fort Polk
are they burning an entire national forest or something?

Ft Polk is nearly 200,000 acres including Kisatche IIRC so yes there is a National Forest there.

My wife had to work in DeRidder today and asked me about it when she got home. I blew it off as a cane field fire.
