Ask hammertime. And UNO isn't that great socially. Its a commuter school. Idk if they have greek life or not. They are diverse, but I don't know how friendly people will be.

End of conversation. You want to go to UNO. UNO has one of the better film schools around. Same for naval architecture and marine engineering.

I wanted to go to UNO for film in high school, but parents made me do engineering in LSU. Didn't end well. I was hoping UNO would have a better social scene but oh well.

Greek life is very small, but they are a very ambitious group, and have a lot of functions.

UNO has the friendliest people I've ever met.

My gf is a social scene type at UNO. She knows everyone. When we got together I went from not knowing anyone there, to having way more friends than I'd ever imagined. It's not hard to have a social life at UNO.

The difference is, being a commuter school, you have to make the effort to get involved, whereas at most universities you can't help but become involved.

OP maybe you should take some time off, try to get a job, and just reevaluate what you want to do. I'm not criticizing, just seems your kinda bouncing from one thing to the next. No offense if I'm way off.

UNO has a good engineering program as well. Look into it.

When I started UNO, I hated it because I'd only heard negative things (exclusively from people with no affiliation to the school). After graduating, I now encourage people to look into it deeper. Now, during my Ph.d interviews, I often get "Oh, you went to UNO? That is such an underrated school. It's a shame people don't understand how good of an institution it is."

As a sophomore looking at a new school, 3rd major and academic trouble so far.... Have you considered taking a break and working in the field before commuting to the next move?

I'll second the guy saying UNO is difficult. It's no cakewalk. UNO specializes in HRT (tourism), business, and engineering. Those three have long been known as great programs. Maybe film can grow now that Hollywood South is growing so much.

Exactly.

I have heard UNO people say, "You go to Tulane for a degree..........you go to UNO for an education."

It's a great place to get an education, but a terribly boring school to go to. It's a commuter school.

Yup

Graduated from there in Accounting. Lots of cool people there, and it can be social. However, it's New Orleans. Students aren't going to stay on campus to party and hangout when the city/quarter is right there.

LSU (and Baton Rouge in general) is probably your better bet if you're weighing social activities heavily.

Lack of any sort of dominant sports program at UNO vs LSU's success, also plays a huge factor.

As long as you can find a little group of friends I wouldn't think UNO would be that bad, but it won't be your traditional college experience
