my family is from opelousas...but i was born in nola.

spent many summers in opelousas. went to the pool almost every day. went to the theatre that had only 1 screen.

my uncle actually owned City Cab.

Yep, before my time. I was born in 75. My brothers probably went to that theater.

Grew up on the parish line between ACadia and St Landry. My moms family is from Lawtell. Our "Lafayette" growing up was Opelousas. TG&Y, K&B, Mama's, Mr. Gattis.

I've seen walmart move like 10 times

I only remember two theaters. The one in the strip mall on Creswell and the one on Heather Drive.

don't remember the name of the street... it was a little theatre seems like in the middle of town. think there was a park/square across the street? main st? market st?

Vista Village and St. Landry. Vista Village had great seats. I remember being the only white kid watching Breakin' in there. I was like 9 years old. What were my parents thinking when they let me go to that movie by myself?

The dairy queen is next to it. We used to go to DQ and watch the prisoners play ball on the second story outdoor basketball court that was attached to the jail. Good times.

Country Meat Block is still pretty awesome. I was never real big on Pizza Shack. Soileau's might still be my favorite fried shrimp dinner I've ever had.

my wife will buy the 16 oz container of tartar sauce from Soileaus and put that shite on everything. Their jumbo stuffed shrimp can't be beat
