I'm looking to upgrade my daily driver and I really like these cars? Is their anyone that has had or have one and can tell me if they are worth it or If they are too much maintenance. This would be my first turbo car so idk what comes along with it.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

My son has a Crosstrek. It is a great car. It in a non turbo engine but, still quite fast. It handles like a go cart. Fun to drive with no issues.

Dont have a wrx but i have the brz. The dealership in BR is aqesome and will bend over backwards post purchase. I have a friend that has the wrx and one that has the sti version. Both are extremely easy to work on and neither have seen problems in the first 30000 miles. If you have the money definitely go sti.

Relative to a '95 Suburban, sure.

I had wrx in my early to mid twenties. It was blast to drive but also lots of mechanical problems. In my late twenties I traded it in and got a Mazda 3.
Also gas was a lot because I had to get premium as mpg wasn't very good

148 hp is not going to put many cars in the fast category. I'm sure it is peppy and nimble because it is a smaller vehicle.

That's what I'm worried about. Id like to get around a 2010 and make it my daily for awhile. I'm past the halfway mark in college so I need a more adult car lol. Right now I have a 1992 3000gt and an 84 elcamino.

I have a 2013 WRX with 32k and I've had 0 problems.

This. They blow head gaskets like its their job. The WRX and STI are performance based engines but they are not built to last. Just my opinion based on being a former Subaru owner and from feedback from other Subaru owners. Good luck with your search.

If you're still in school, I wouldn't purchase another car.
Just my 2 cents.

Couldn't be farther from the truth.
The majority of used WRX/STI's on the used market today have been abused and not taken care of. If you take care of them, they will last.
If the OP does decide to purchase one, make sure you have done thorough research on the car's history and previous owners.

If your parents are paying for your car insurance, go for it. Otherwise, [insert 'prepare your anus' meme here].
Having owned one Subaru or another most of my life that would be a bigger concern to me than the maintenance on a WRX.

Well I have a buddy that wants my current car so I would sell it to him. I only plan on having 2 after all would be said and done.

A 2014 WRX is our daily driver. ~30k miles, no mechanical issues. It's a bit of a drag buying premium gas and putting on winter tires, but it's really fun to drive. Room enough for two carseats in the back as well.
My wife was a bit leery about the standard transmission at first (she'd learn on one years ago, but wasn't very confident especially w/ all the hills here). She's gotten to like driving it as much as me now.
plus it's really fun to drive around here on all the winding, hilly roads. When the winter tires are on, the thing is unstoppable in the snow.
I really wanted to get one many years ago when I lived in LA, but the only dealership was in Baton Rouge and I just foresaw that being an issue at the time. It's not an issue here, since Subarus are so popular due to the terrain and weather.

I had a Subaru rental once, my only personal experience with Subaru, and I was very pleased. Everyone I know in CO who owns a Subaru love them. I have one friend in particular who lives at high elevation with large yearly snowfalls and he buys nothing but Subaru for his wife. They are excellent AWD vehicles. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

They really are great vehicles. I love my little Japanese engineered awd turbo box. Definitely a good value sports car for the money.
Subaru has been setting sales records for the past 7 years. They are safe and reliable vehicles and people are starting to pick up on that. Some are made here in the US as well.
Easily maneuver through traffic.
Fun in the snow.
And for those of us who don't get snow.
