Yes I always thought let the first owner pay for all tge upgrades because the dealer doesn’t car on trade in. Unless the private buyer of the car is a Porsche person it doesn’t usually matter to them as well.

A standard Cayman compares very little to a GT4, just like a 911 is a different animal than a GT3. Still a fun car to kick around in, but not the beast the GT4 is. GT3/GT4's are built to be every day track cars, and do an exceptional job at it.

Oh yeah, I totally get that. As fun as those cars are on the track, I wouldn't want to drive one 2-3 hours to get to the track. I'm just searching for something to have a little fun driving. Down the road, I may decide i need a newer car and this car may morph into more of a track car......who knows?!?!

One thing I’ll add about owning a Porsche is that, at least in my experience, the service department treats you like royalty. In 2013 I drove to Dallas to buy a ‘09 911 in the mid $50k range - so nothing too extravagant. When I returned home with it, there was an issue with the windshield wiper reservoir hose. Brought it to Porsche of New Orleans and they fixed it, and the dealer I bought it from covered the cost. A few days later the hose became detached again. PoNO sent someone to my house in Slidell to fix it again. On another occasion I needed an oil change, and they picked up my car from my house and left me a loaner, then returned it to my house. Granted, they had a mechanic who lived on the Northshore, but I still to this day have never had any other luxury car dealer treat me that well - and It was just a used car and I didn’t even buy it from them.
