Good hardware, good software you know how to use, a good idea, and connections that relate to that good idea (for guests and later for sponsorships.) After that, an ability to script episodes and a personality to do them without sounding scripted.

Mics, soundboard/mixer, headphones, laptop, and room with good acoustics, editing and mixing software, subscriptions to podcast hosting sites, money for social media targeted ads, the jokes, the skits, the monologues. Etc
