Any other of you former UPS part-timers get a pension payout letter recently?

I did my time as a part timer 20 years ago and they sent me a letter last week asking me to take 21k.

I worked there for 3 years back in the mid 80's on a midnight sort. Haven't received anything, not sure, should I expect something?

Yes, no shame in it. It was my second job while going to college part-time. Eventually, graduated from LSU and all is good. Btw, it took 10-12 years back then to go to full-time package car driver.

Sure can't, but I didn't get to bid a driving position. I can load and train how to load a truck like no other though.;)

I'm sure it depends on the contract at the time and vested time. Send me a PM and I'll send you the number to call. Fyi, I called 10 years ago to find out if I had a pension and could not find anyone to give me info. Now all of a sudden I get a letter.

From the little bit I was exposed to Brown, it seemed like it was not an easy place to work.

It was a steady paycheck and the best benefits available. I haven't worked there in 20 years but I'm still very appreciative of what they provided me for a hard days work.

You probably didn't become vested.

I don't know if its the same situation as I was in but you would probably make MUCH more money by leaving in it and making them pay you monthly after you retire. I had a part time gig and ends up if I will make what they offered me in 15 months. Obviously, I will take the monthly.
