I'm trying to decide if I should pull the trigger on a 1961 Brunswick Gold Crown I 9ft. table.
It's in extremely good condition as it has only ever had one owner and never used commercially.
What do you guys think? Go with this classic or get stick with a new table such as a Diamond or Olhausen?

Age or new/used wouldn't matter to me.
Quality, condition, and the size of the table are the factors. You've said it's a Brunswick in good condition. If you like a 9-ft table I'd do it.
If I had the room, I'd look for an older tournament-sized table to restore. I think the bar tables are 7 or 8-ft, and the tournament tables are 9-ft.

Quality is amazing for a table this old. It has some wear and tear in some small spots but nothing major. I've heard the Brunswick Gold Crown I is the pinnacle of Brunswick tables. Back when they were all made in the USA with hardwoods.
I'm leaning towards this table tbh. It has a nice retro look to it.

Olhausen
hands down best rails you can get on a pool table. a brunswick that old may be fine but the rails may be dead.
olhausen rails are so good people have been known to swap them and sell the tables with cheaper rails and sell the rails separately.

test the rails. with a table that old, you may be ok. brunswick really damaged their brand when they switched to crappy material for their rails in the late 1980s.
