This is what confuses me about the whole thing. I know he wasn't obviously thinking rational, but there was a reason he did it.
He was messing around with that other girl. but what did he think? That girl was going to continue dating him after his wife and kids came up missing?

At the sentencing, the maternal grandmother said that Bella sang a song from time to time - "Daddy is my Hero."
