We reviewed the cost and benefits to see if it made sense to offer to our FTEs.
My company makes it available to purchase. I'll be the first to admit not every employee would be or should be interested in those policies

Pretty much a one-tjme payment if you get a catastrophic illness.
You clearly didn't do an indepth review then

It is a very poor substitute for real insurance.
My wife and I have a hospital policy that we bought before we had kids, because we knew having kids would pay out. I pay less than $10/month in premiums and got over 2k for each one of my kids. It's not a substitute for real insurance, its just extra.

It's worthless. Save your money.

Yeah, I mentioned that b/c some companies that claim to offer their employees medical insurance use these type of products.
(Wal-Mart and their part-time employees for example)

You can't blame Aflac for that. Wouldn't be surprised if they are against that due to the inevitable PR crisis when people come to them with uncovered bills

No, not at all.
The employers are more than willing to mislead people.
Look, run the numbers and see if it's worth it to you.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend it and or have it as a product for my employees. I didn't even like the way it was marketed. You have to dig to find the flaws.
