I'm 57 and ride my longboard just about every day. I bought a bamboo land paddle (Kahuna stick) and cruise the hood. Great exercise and really helps my balance when I get on the snowboard for real action. I have a 20ft rope leash and run my retriever too. I've got a Never Summer Rogue 48" board with rocket and camber and an old Carlsbad Cruiser 56" board I restored for bombing hills.

I still skate with my kids a little. Teach them tricks more than anything. Never forget at a birthday party all my buddies had no idea I skated. One of the kids was trying to land a kick flip. Nailed it first try everybody freaked

Used to ice skate back when I played hockey. Would probably bust my arse if I tried it now.

Nice bump on this thread. I ended up getting an anti hero deck with indys and some soft wheels. I later switched to some lighter, faster wheels. I can ollie and pump a little on a half pipe. I do not not skate as much as I would like to. Maybe the Spring will have some nice weather where I'll get out some more.
I'm 44 years old and I mostly worry about hurting myself so I can't get too crazy
There are always older guys at the park that just cruise and have fun and exercise. You don't have to be jumping down stairs. The BR park has a fun manual pad and some good bowls and quarter pipes and a mini ramp essentially. Rukus used to do old man's day on Sunday mornings at the BREC park years ago, not sure if they still do.
Another Louisiana native from Farmerville/Monroe Lance Chapin is pro for The Killing Floor Co., which is a board company out of the northwest that has really cool graphics. A lot of Miles Davis and jazz influenced stuff.
