For a basic audio upgrade to a 2022 Super Duty with B&O speakers, I got quoted $12,000. That's not a typo.
Lol Jesus
I was stunned. I saw some Kappa/Polk components for $200 a pair, etc., and they sent me the quote, and I was confused as to how the quote got to where it did. I thought I was going to be in for 3-4 grand. Quelle surprise.

No! Turn that hideous shite down! No reason I should have to hear your crap while I'm pumping gas. And to think there's a post complaining about motorcycles!

But audio junkies would swap all of that out if they bought a vehicle with it.
I wouldn't call myself an audio junkie, but the first thing I am doing with any vehicle is replacing at least the OEM front door speakers and adding some insulation. It is an immediate and noticeable difference for under $200 and an hour of work.

What's some good name brands these days? Door speakers and Amps specifically.

I'm no expert. At all. I went with Kenwood (Excelon?) the last time I replaced speakers I believe and they sound great to me. Anything is better than the paper OEMs from the past.
I have no idea on what makes a good amp but I heard a JL Audio marine system the other day that was the best thing I have ever heard on a boat.

i have been, but the past few years ive been riding a new vehicle under warranty so i haven't wanted to mess with things, especially with the all the technology in these new vehicles it's a bitch to do an aftermarket system
road around with a DD 3512 on 1000W in my previous car, wasn't the douche who blares it around rocking everyones cars by stoplights and traffic, that's an easy way to get a noise violation ticket, it's a new perspective on hard hitting electronic and rap music, i don't even listen to electronic and rap music much without a sub

quote:as well as factory Bose systems are okay for most but like someone said they are junk to people that are into sound. The main problem is in most new vehicles, the head unit/screen is the brain of the whole car and it will never push the same amount of power as an aftermarket head unit. I changed out the B&O sub to a 8” Kicker shallow mount and the 3.5” dash speaker to a Kicker 2way with tiny modifications in my ‘20 F150. Sounds a lot crisper than the factory. Definitely not as good as the factory Sony system in my previous’17 F150.

Bass systems were a big deal back in the early 80s. I’d have it now if I could. Nothing like jamming out after a long hard day of work.
Once had a Punch 45, red Orion 225, 2 -15” inch and a 12” Kicker, Audio Contriol EQ, Sony dome tweeters.
Good times.
