Make that the transmission was serviced if you are looking at a 100k miles GX. The great thing about GX’s is the aftermarket support for overlanding/offroading. You can get a basic 3” lift or you can go super high end suspension upgrades. The GX is a great platform to build a specific use vehicle.

Love it. Its just a tank, plain and simple. Keep up routine maintenance and this baby is good for +300,000 miles.

By far my favorite vehicle ever.

I'm not worried about mileage. I can live with teen mpgs.
The ones I've looked at other than seat wear they hold up well.

If you arent worried about gas mileage buy a GX.

You will not be disappointed at all.

I have 90k miles on a GX460. Great car. Thirsty and needs premium but it drives great. No issues and the V8 has been awesome.

Going to sell my Tacoma and my other suv and just get this. So it needs to replace my Tacoma and my Ford Escape.

GX is nice and there is a robust overland add-on market. Any reason why you're not building out your Tacoma or adding the 4Runner to your list?

So this is all even more positive than I expected.
I'm actively looking now. 100 series preferred but a nice 80 series would do.

Someone said premium depending on the compression they can be tuned for 87. Really only forced induction or really high compression requires 91/93.

My weekend car is twin turbo and it has to have at least 91, but I'm going to set it up for e85 down the line.
I want to keep that car, then have the Lexus, then a work vehicle.

I've had the Tacome 11 years now. It's a 4x2. So has the look but not the ability.
Due to some strange pricing is still almost worth the $9,000 I paid for it in 2011.
4runners were my original choice but the prices are similar and you get more with the GX.

It has the same engine as the tundra and it didn’t require premium.

I bought my wife one that I will get from her on a couple years. Can’t wait. I really love that ride. I’ll run it to 250k then make it a camp truck.

Hmmmm, I wonder what all these wonderfully performing vehicles have in common?

Probably a “J” as the first character of their VINs.

I’m team Lexus but I’m not buying one assembled in Canada or the US.

I’ll find a model I like with a J, thank you.

My son-in-law has a GX 460, it’s a wonderful vehicle.

We have a 2020 GX with barely 40k miles and love it. It’s only driven around town and have never had any problems with it. Lexus is a great brand. Would highly recommend it.

Buy the 100. Prices are coming down while the GX470 are staying high. ‘05 is the newest 5spd trans without the VVTi engine, go ‘06 if you want more power. AHC is a great system and can be fixed cheapy now. IH8MUD has covered every mechanical topic over the years and is a great library of knowledge.

I only put 85 in my 100.

100>GX470>GX460. The 100 is the smallest big car. It has ton of interior volume but doesn’t feel big to drive. The GX470 drives like a hotrod in comparison but is noticeably narrower. The 460 is newer but the built in 3rd row kills the cargo area and I find the entry using the stock running boards kind of awkward.

200 LXs are in the mid $20k range now. Dont pass one up if you find the right spec for a good deal.
