Antibiotics don't work for Viruses (Cold & Flu)

As my Physiology Prof. used to say in grad school...

Isn't this common knowledge?
Maybe it's just bc I'm a nurse..I just assumed everyone knew that antibiotics were solely for bacterial infections. You NEVER want to over-take antibiotics and ONLY take them when absolutely necessary..it can cause an effect similar to tolerance if you over-take them.

Tamiflu, if taken early enough, will, though. Well, for the flu. Have no clue about the cold.
Take some zicam for the cold. The placebo effect will make you think it works.

It's amazing how many doctors still write these Rx's though. Three people at work all got antibiotics last week for common cold symptoms.

Most... But there are black pugs as well. Our pug use to look like that but she's 9 years old and her snout has just about turned all gray.
