Officers embellish to get warrants signed

I've posted it before, but I had two troopers come in my cabin one night early in the morning on the premise of a 911 call from the residence. There was no land line.

They still barged in and searched the residence. I'm 100% sure it's because the electricity bill doubled (ran out of fuel oil for a couple weeks) and they though we had a grow operation.

Yup. Will the NRA publicly support this guy? Or will they be silent?

Hey I have an idea. If you're concerned about guns in his house, disable his car in the middle of the night (e.g., put on a Denver boot) then wait for him to leave the house and detain him outside, then search the house. I guess that's not as much fun as playing war.

No i'm not. The cops mishandled it big time. A phone call to ask him to come out of the house could have easily avoided this tragedy.

I agree 100% that this was an unnecessary use of force by the police. Killing a cop wasn't necessary and it will not end well for the man who is now in jail. even if he beats the State level charges, the Feds will charge him with Felon in possession of a firearm.

Felon in possession of a firearm

According to Magee’s attorney, Dick Deguerin, four weapons were recovered by police; 3 legally owned by Magee, one legally owned by Magee’s mother

quote:

2.) According to the AP, “Magee has been arrested twice for driving while intoxicated and twice for possession of marijuana.” The Bryan-College Station Eagle writes that Magee “has a felony and misdemeanor drug conviction.” According to Texas law, a resident with a felony arrest may own a weapon IF 5 years have elapsed since the felony conviction or end of parole. The weapon must be kept at the individuals home. None of the sources make it clear if this statute applies to Magee.

so I guess you're either jumping to conclusions or you know more about the situation than these sources do

It wohld end well for the shooter if I was on the jury. The cop brought about his own demise.

so its cool if someone just kicks in your door? so I can go buy some cool little hybrid police camo and some combat boots. Then ride over to your house and toss some fire crackers outside your window and then kick down your door. I then race in with a gun pointed at your head and you aren't going to shoot because I could be the cops.

you're god damn right. if someone breaks into your house, they do not get any benefit of the doubt. you don't pause for a second and ponder if he's a cop, you do what you feel is necessary to protect your family

this

if someone is kicking down my door I'm not going to hangout and ask questions while they do it. Im getting in a defensive spot or I'm popping out of a window and flanking them.

Killing may not be necessary but defending yourself in some manner was totally necessary. It just so happened in self defense, he killed a cop.

It was self defense. If you break into someone's home, expect to get shot.

For weed. Weed.

Imagine this shite going down during prohibition. Oh well it was warranted because this man had a six pack of Budweiser in his fridge.

I may be off base here, but I think no knocks are pretty common for drug operations because they fear the evidence will be disposed of. Still a bad idea though.

I knew that name sounded very familiar. I would assume attorneys take cases they feel will put them in the spotlight. This could be a big case.

Kind of hard to flush a grow operation down the toilet.

If you have such a small amount that it can be disposed of that fast, A no-knock warrant is a waste of time.

The DA that charged him w/ capital murder and will go after the DP needs to be disbarred as well.

Our law authorities are over reaching their duties more and more every day.

Good. frick that cop.

Any juror that doesn't acquit is a disturbed human being.
