The same person that died and made you decider of whether or not this cop broke any laws.

You are the biggest hypocrite in this thread. You ask someone what laws were broken for this cop to deserve punishment, the guy posts the laws, and your response is a wordier equivalent of 'nah uh he didn't break those laws'. Yet here you are constantly bitching about people moving goal posts, when they really aren't, as you are doing that very thing yourself.

On one hand you say cops should be held to a different standard than citizens, and on the other you say they should be punished the same. Make up your mind.

I have made no such comment in this thread relating to either of those. My mind is perfectly made up. You're just creating bullshite to fit whatever retarded narrative you're following in your head.

Yea I think him and I also are on complete opposite sides of what a punishment should be. I typically base my punishment on what the law charges you for, might be a large fine might be a couple years in jail. He however, believes being re-positioned in the office to desk duty is a punishment that fits this crime. It's a joke. I am still waiting for him to tell me how he had the right to pull this guy over.

Yeah..Conveniently, the part that was not recorded..

How was that conveniently not recorded? Why would it be recorded?

And have you ever been to New York? If you can't handle honking, then you shouldn't drive there

What's dramatic in pointing out that you apparently have the unicorn of police forces. People like you say cops are mostly bad, but then you're going to tell me you live somewhere that has a great force when I tell you you should do something to change it? Make up yor mind.

I'm not telling you anything else because you'll just move the goal posts some more. First it was cops don't get punished. Now it's they don't get punished enough. There's no point in talking to you, because you don't care about being factually correct. You just care about your preconceived notion that this cop should be in jail.

usually little girls talk about unicorns and then put words in folks mouths.

THIS cop is bad, and THIS cop should be punished more severely. Stick with the topic at hand.

How does a traffic stop violate the 4th amendment again? Was any of the driver's property searched or seized?

Personal insults about word choice instead of actually making a point. Sweet deflection.

Dude seriously? What is your profession? Cops absolutely cannot just go pulling over every car they see, there has to be "probable cause/reasonable suspicion".

No it wasn't. Cop was stopped in a traffic lane on a three lane road looking to parallel park.

I'd hate to burst your bubble, but:

quote:

According to New York City law (Section 24-221(a) of the city code), it’s illegal to honk your horn in the city (unless in an emergency situation). Brooklyn car rental travelers can spot signs throughout the five boroughs denoting the charge – “DON’T HONK – $350 PENALTY.”

In fact, New York City is considered to be a pioneer in the arena of noise pollution, becoming one of the first American cities to adopt and enforce a strict noise code back in 1972.

ETA: Actual law:
quote:

No person shall operate or use or cause to be operated or used any sound signal device so as to create an unreasonable noise, except that:

(a) No person shall operate or use or cause to be operated or used any claxon installed on a motor vehicle, except as a sound signal of imminent danger, provided that such operation or use shall be considered in any proceeding before the board pursuant to any applicable section of subchapter eight of this chapter of this code, except section 24-269 prima facie evidence of a violation of this subdivision, and that a notice of violation shall in every instance issue against a person operating, using or causing to be operated or used a claxon installed on a motor vehicle.

But you can respond in kind to those guys w/o getting pummeled and thrown in jail (or worse). With a cop, you gotta just sit there and take it.

touché he did break one law. Now how about addressing the laws this officer broke which includes making a right turn without signaling?

Well he didn't break the 4th amendment.

You feel free to tell me about a time someone has gone to jail or been fired for not signaling. A demotion seems to fit the crime here to me. The guy was out of line and an a-hole. Whoop dee doo. He didn't arrest the driver. He didn't physically harm the driver. What is the big deal? Oh no the mean officer used mean words at me

It doesn't if there is probable cause. I think that POS cop is ok on that one due to the honk.

I know you get off on taking the opposite side of these arguments, but you know that isn't what he's saying.
