Yeah I'm sure God is worried about what you wear to church over the relationship one has with him.
With a Church then yes

One weekend you go together to Catholic Mass and then the next week you attend her church services. There is always daily mass you can attend if you have a concern about not receiving the Eucharist every Sunday. At the same time you would be meeting your Sunday obligation.

Well, like the previous poster stated, alternate Sundays and when it is your Sunday, take her to the Sunday evening Mass.

quote:I've been thinking about this A LOT lately.
A few weeks ago I made a post saying my fiance would not be happy about me attending Mass. Well, she wasn't at first, saying " I hated her Non Denom church". I really don't hate it, it is not for me. I showed her an EWTN Mass so she would have an idea but she said it was too boring. I still know Catholicism is the way to go for me and our family. She is the kind that needs the feel good Gospel and Concert for church. I tried to tell her, her Church only started in 1500.
I've arrived at believing that 80% percent of what people call protestantism, but what I will call low church evangelical is disembodied, gnostic, DIY "religion."
But I wouldn't even know where to begin in trying to convince a Healing Place attendee that a liturgical service is anything but boring.
I think God must be more compassionate that I dare imagine, because the two ways of approaching him are incomprehensibly wide.
I see your typical low church setting as a fleeting high that is nearly impossible to hold onto.
Whereas you can live the liturgy daily as it aids personal devotion more easily.
Christianity may scale to accomidate both types of people, but I think that's what we're talking about right here. And you and your fiancee may just be too different. ?!?!?!
And check this out. Her church didn't start in 1500. It started in 1906 at best. Lutherans, Anglicans, and the Reformed are the only 16th century churches and that is not when they began, but when they continued on separately.

80% is absurd. And if a church is biblically based it started in the New Testament. the ROMAN church does not have a stranglehold on the title as the first and only church.

Ahh the “your religion isn’t as old as mine” argument.

Also, your relationship with God is about what's in your heart/mind more so than the mechanics of the church service.
You just described disembodied/gnostic DIY religion.
There's almost nothing of substance to it.

Going to church is about worshiping God. Thats it.

Making fun of other faiths is not very Christian-like.

80% is absurd.
All Baptists, Pentecostals, AG, non-denom, and many more.
