An ER Visit on the Fourth of July

Daughter decided to be a daredevil and jumped backwards into the pool. Caught her chin on the side and required four stitches.
No one was in the ER and it was quite pleasant. In and out in an hour and 15 minutes. Had $50 ER Co Pay and haven't paid anything toward my deductible. What should I expect to see a bill for?

Glad to hear she's ok.
Tell her to keep her chin up.

I'd say it is going to be "for medical services rendered."
Assuming your insurer has a negotiated rate with the provider, my WAG is $1750.

That is because "they" do not have school tomorrow.

I would've figured the 4th to be a busy ER day. Glad your child wasn't too badly hurt.

I thought so as well, but we walked in, had barely been seated after completing paperwork and was called back. Doctor saw us, nurse came in and cleaned it up and numbed the area, doctor came back and sewed it up. We watched Austin and Ally and Girl Meets World.
Topanga is still bangin'

It's early yet and raining in a lot of places. That probably kept the number of fireworks injuries and boating accidents down.

Since it wasn't an emergency you could have gone to an after hours clinic for half the price.

Some policies cover 100 percent for accidents if treated within 72 hours.

Fourth of July - they closed at 1 pm today. We tried. Doctor friend of ours said we needed it to get it done.

Guess the cost will depend on your coverage. My er copay is$100. I had a ct scan in er a few weeks ago and I only paid the$100, eob said the original bill was over $4k.

Wouldn't be worried about that in the least. Could have been a different outcome. Glad to hear she is going to be OK.

Im not really worried about it. I probably sounded like an a-hole for asking. Its just been a Murphy-filled couple of months around the anc household.

Better question to ask is what's the going rate for a plastic surgeon when she's 16 and says "Dad-ee I hate this scar on my chin!" and blinks those eyes at you.
