Two different situations. China does this crap with people all the time. Their bureaucracies like to flex their muscles but very slowly. Same type of thing happened to an employee a few years ago when he went to China to visit his parents. Ended up having to stay an extra month because the chinese government dragged their feet on paperwork.
Mexico jsut want the money that flows back when they have people working here. Legal or illegal.

Learned something today. I used to put fiancee. Then i would see fiance. I figured i was spelling it wrong. Needless to say, courtesy of your post, i look it up and discover that there is actually a different spelling for both. In all of these years, i did not know that. go or should i say geaux figure. :))

Dont even get me started on having to buy a fishing or hunting license to be able to fish or hunt. Should be a god given or if not religious a spaghetti monster given right to be able to hunt or fish without the need for a license.

There was a girl in my HS born without an a-hole. She has to carry around a colostomy bag for her entire life or she'll die. It's really sad. I hope you feel good about yourself for making that into a joke

My Canadian fiancée and I had to fill out forms for a year. We would mail a form in with $100 and find out which form is next. The next form was $75, the next $150, etc.
After a year of this, I called and asked when the end of the road would come. They had us go to New Orleans for an interview, gave her a green card and the green light to get married.
They made marrying a fricking Canadian as painful as possible.
Apparently they were confused because she already had a SS# and LA drivers license. Or they just wanted to see how long we would send in forms and hundreds.

Yeah well, in the end it is worth it. I've been there myself, pal. My wife is a Mexican National with a Green Card.
