I've never laid hands on a Herk and I recently got an unsolicited offer to apply for a position to fly it( approaching mandatory retirement)

Remember, this isn't your father's AA. Since 2013's merger this is in reality US Airways with the AA name.

Talking to some of my indoc classmates on the ER made me feel like being back in C-130 initial qual. "You gotta remember all that shite?"

I would like to get my hands on the 757 at some point in my career though. That thing is a HOSS.

It is not, I repeat IS NOT a retirement airplane.

I love the old girl, but she is a step back. Especially the legacy, the J not so much.

The legacy 130 is a great community to be FROM

that's a very astute observation due to a number of factors, AA is rapidly becoming USAir, and in reality they should have disappeared off of the radar back in the 90s

Thats a J gig for sure then. You'd like the airplane for sure, but they'd probably expect you to drop things from it. Way too much work and liability.

I know you're not interested but unless you're an organic airdrop guy(not sure of your pre airline background) It's a tough game to break into. I would have to have a gun to my head to get back in and put the work in to be good at it. And I've only been out of it for a year.

Even Delta is hit or miss these days. Sky Club is an absolute joke now. Airlines in general are mostly trash.

Looks like the employee swim scene in Caddyshack these days. They're trying to tighten it up. We'll see how it goes.

congratulations on getting on with Delta, they're a good company, I'm involved with a couple of organizations that do things with various AF squadrons on an annual(Freedom Flyers, etc.,) basis and I'm involved with interviewing and hiring here, I'm doing everything that I can to get guys that are coming off active duty and are interested in airline careers hired here, believe me when I say that we need military guys, with their training and leadership skills to come in and take the baton to keep the standards upheld

Thanks Baw

AA is a great company too. I just hate what the US Airways leadership has done to the place. I know just as many mil guys going to AA as I do Delta.

I live in Dallas and have to fly them most the time so I feel your pain. But I knew them last week and it was good.

it is a curse, farce, and a disgrace at this point, trend is bad, that's why we need to get the military leadership back here to oust the PC regime, USAir, like many other charity cases that we've acquired, should have disappeared long ago and if not for powerful Senators in their respective states, they would have, a glorified commuter airline is taking over a once proud and distinguished airline

That's what you get for not flying Delta or Southwest.
