people in China making $2/day are writing amazon reviews?

Come to think of it, I could use another $700/yr.

Most of us can distinguish between honest reviews and shills.

Be smarter about what you buy.

I never go to Amazon and just type random shite and buy whatever. Who does that?

I go there for specific items and I buy the ones on Prime listing. Anything else is a crap shoot imo

the other poster said to do your own research, did you so the extra research on the sheets?

Which includes..throwing away 5734 reviews at amazon first.

Dude.. Have you even tried looking up reviews for a product on google? You get 5 pages of almost nothing but amazon in the results

Protip start adding '-amazon.com' for every google search. It's eye opening.

I rest my case.

I have it too.

The #1 review for years was about 6 paragraphs long and loaded with what appeared to be legitimate info and has now been completely removed by amazon.

All lies.

Eta wake up people! You've been deceived!

I'm not defending amazon so much as I'm calling you an oaf for knowing this, still making the purchase, then trying to blame amazon for your poor decision.

You are wrong. I made a $10 mistake which caused me to look deeper into amazon reviews and share what I discovered with y'all.

Did you not make the purchase based on the reviews.

Ikr?

I've literally never made a purchase online(and this is dating pre-amazon) that I was upset with. None

Op sounds like a guy that buys shite off of infomercials at 2am

Once. A $9 tea kettle.

This is my point. Why did that crappy tea kettle have 5,000 reviews and the next one had 30?

Amazon's user review system is worthless

it's not worthless, but it does create a new layer of sociological "taxes"

idiots or ignorants will take the reviews at face value, and suffer accordingly

discerning buyers will see through most of the BS, weigh the negatives/positives, and make informed decisions and live more efficiently

Because one person's $9 tea kettle is "too crappy" while the other person's $9 was "a nine dollar tea kettle; what do you expect?"

C'mon man, shouldn't you have known that off the bat? Or at least questioned?

However, be glad this happened on a $9 purchase rather than an expensive one.

Also, I remember you saying the purchase was made quickly, so
I can understand the reason for not doing proper research (for something less than $10). So I get it. I'm just saying, this wasn't 100% amazons fault.

If anything, it proves that amazon values their customers opinions and satisfaction.
