I'm laughing because I don't think you understand how good Amazon is and what "logistics" means when talking about them.
Sure they don't have stores, but they are killing it now with their distribution network/delivery.

This sounds awesome. Hopefully they put a hurting on Amazon. They clearly have the wherewithal to do so with a huge advantage in having both storefronts and a much more robust distribution network. Curious to see if the Jet acquisition pays off on this front for them.

1. Why would you want to "put a hurting" on Amazon?
2. Delivery to my front door > me picking it up from the store

I use Prime Now instead. Two hours and free delivery.
It's a solid option, but it is still limited in their inventory.

My wife is also a crazy coupon clipper, so we rarely use the online stuff, as she can't take advantage of all the deals she can get with the couponing.

They have a weekly deals section but it pails in comparison to someone willing to use coupons strategically.

Generally, I find the Amazon prices to be as good or better than what I can get locally (but I don't coupon).

Inventory changes a lot on Prime Now. Amazon partnered with Sprouts in my area which has improved the variety of things available. Sprouts is similar to Whole Foods for those not familiar with the chain.

I'm not sure you know what that means, actually.

What they have done is impressive, but it doesn't compare to the scale and scope of Walmart's distribution network. They have one of the largest private trucking fleets in America, and they have 150 massive distribution centers.

AMZN has been at the mercy of carriers for last-mile delivery since inception, just like WMT, and while volumes help them command better pricing and drive better margins there, WMT has a lot of capacity to make up ground in e-commerce. People still like to go to stores in person, so having multichannel will probably fare better than you realize.

Ah nice, we have Sprouts in my area as well.

If it were me shopping for myself, I'd basically use Amazonly only and never leave the house lol. But my wife is the type that buys all kinds of stuff for like $7 when it should have been $60. No clue how, but she does basically 100% of the grocery shopping, so I'm good with that.

Guess the laughing was a little much.
You have good points, but I wouldn't say Walmart is going to hurt Amazon much. Amazon has been arse raping them for years and I would say overall, that will continue.

I don't care for Bezos, and I want to see competition in e-commerce in general.

Maybe. Making an order at my desk at work, including meats and dairy, and having the ability to pick it up on my way home a few hours later, seems like a solid setup. I have to make the dreaded hike down to the front office or worry about messing with my apartment mgt to deliver the shite to me anyway.

I didn't find that he was hating on them.

CAD is the one with real mental issues in regards to Amazon.

I love how well run the company is and how they have taken so much of their earnings and reinvested in over many years to prepare for future growth.
