NYC is the Silicon Valley East. Lots of interesting stuff going on up here.

Amazon. com Inc. has agreed to take new office space in Midtown Manhattan, showing a renewed commitment to New York City less than a year after it abruptly dropped plans to locate its second headquarters in Queens.
The giant online retailer said it has signed a new lease for 335,000 square feet on the city’s west side in the new Hudson Yards neighborhood, where it will have more than 1,500 employees. Amazon is taking the space without any of the special tax credits and other inducements the company had been offered to build a new headquarters in the Queens neighborhood of Long Island City, the company said.
The new lease represents Amazon’s largest expansion in New York since it stunned the city by abandoning those earlier plans.

Okay but what does this have to do with Mr. Stark's building?

Amazon already has 5k employees in NYC.
This new office is a far cry from the purported 25,000 jobs from Amazon building their headquarters there.

335,000 ft2 for 1,500 ppl? Holy cow- gonna be a cube farm assuming they have normal space for meeting rooms, rest rooms, cafe, gym, etc...

Not her district, so she can eat a dick.
Could have had a bunch of high paying jobs in her district, instead some of them go to Manhattan. Rich get richer.

How many Amazon employees at the Cortana Mall location?
Posted on 12/6/19 at 6:09 pm to NYNolaguy1
Yeah I’d rather be up north in Harlem or even the Bronx instead of across queens bridge

Long Island City is wayyy nicer than 95% of the Bronx or Harlem. It's also one of the hottest real estate areas to buy in NYC- theres literally a high rise tower going up a month.
When was the last time you were in NYC?

Eh, no jobs were headed to the Bronx AFAIK.

Her district is Bronx and North Queens. Long Island City is mostly in District 12, but with Amazon coming in, that current, booming development would have continued into District 14 (AOC’s district).
