fricking calzones were like $3 on Tuesdays or something. We'd load up on them. Paging LaBR4.

Haven't had that in ages. It used to be in the strip mall with Murphys by the Super Fresh when I was in school.

Damn straight.

Those 8oz flats of beer and skunk Heineken for 2.99/case were the shite at AM Mart.

Are we talking about a gas station sandwich?

Is that what's going on in here?

It's a weird store but technically a convenience store. You could go buy a $40 bottle of wine, get a keg filled and get sliced meats at the deli.

They make poboy type sandwiches and put them on a grill press so they are hot with the cheese melted. When I was at LSU a 10" sandwich and chips was like $4.

It's kind of a LSU student tradition because it's cheap and good.

Nobody said it was Peche. But when you're 21 and poor, it's a great fricking hot sandwich for just a few bucks. And you can flirt with the Asian girl behind the counter.

It's like $7. Does anyone rate it as a gourmet meal?

It's way better than a place like Jimmy John's which is more expensive imo

Unfortunately pecker your schtick won't work in an AM mart thread. It's a united front going back decades

Cajun turkey and ham, usually could get away without saying double meat since you pay before getting your sandwich. I’d typically get 2 meals but sometimes couldn’t resist and eat whole thing

Ingas giant steak
-Tony's
-Cheddar
-Lettuce
-Tomato
-Honey mustard
-Grilled/toasted

Tied with AM Cajun turkey for goat LSU sandwich spots

Next Rouls shrimp burger (juicy, juicy)

Non sandwich honerable mentions:
Izzos burrito
Gyro from the place behind Reggie's

I gained some weight when I lived around there and have lost a lot since I moved.

Although they do have a Bud's Broiler now so I may have to stop by....

I don’t even live in Baton Rouge anymore but I would cry if they stopped. They are that good
