A dog is supposed to be a companion to man, whether for hunting or not. A good friend would work harder for me than someone kept in a cage. The best hunting lab I've ever owned sleeps in the bed with my son. The best pheasant dogs I've ever hunted behind were inside dogs.

Does this make me trashy?
Yep.

living in a cage your whole life sounds really sad and lonely. What do you do when it's really cold outside? does he have a dog house? What did you do with him when it snowed? what do you do when it's really hot outside? Do you have plenty of shade for him?

OP needs to post his info so we can alert a rescue group to go check out his place and have his dogs taken away and see if charges for animal cruelty can be levied.
Trash. Nothing but trash.
Trash. Nothing but trash.

Not saying you're a big enough POS that you deserve to die over this, but I'd say you deserve to be chained up outside for 2 years and be castrated so you can't pass your trashy POS genetics on.

Of course he's well fed and watered I take care of my animals I just don't let him out unless I'm going hunting because of how dangerous he can be to those tgat don't know him. He's got a large dog house I personally made, and yes it is under shade. Dogs aren't humans as long as they're well fed and watered and have space to run a little they do fine in a cage. Jesus some of you sound like you belong in a safe space.
