Man the bad thing is you really don't know what's going on in there. If anything tests my faith its alzheimers disease. Are they really in there, or have they left long ago for modern medicine to hold them together? Sometimes you think you see a glimpse of the person you love but its only for a moment.

Its damn hard to deal with.

My Mom had Alzheimer’s for many years. We finally had to put her in assisted living. For the last year, she didn’t know me nor could she speak coherent sentences. COVID finally took her this January. She was a university professor in education counseling and psychology; a very smart woman. It was was sickening to watch such a smart person suffer and die this way. Sadly, I was happy that she could finally be free from this hideous disease.

My Dad, you’re right, it’s a cruel disease. Twice my Dad had flashes when he seemed to know me. You Dad is a gem.
