What a nice lie for the board
Oh Please... LAst ting I need to do today is stand up to some keyboard warrior who thinks I have nothing better to do with my life than Lie on the internet to a bunch of freaking kids.
We have multiple policies with Allstate.. Side by Sides. Boats, Cars, Trucks, 4 wheelers. RV's...
Lets see they first conveniently played the game of..
Oh.. You didn't pay your policy so we had to cancel it... BTW.. We are no Longer offering full coverage for that vehicle.
Why Didn't you send the Bill in the mail like you have been before?
Oh, we stopped mailing bills.. We sent an Email..
Why did you not notify use that you stopped mailing paper bills?
We sent an email. You should have checked.
I see... Since you have an office in the same city as me and you are our agent.. Why didn't you call?
We didn't know, but they sent an email.
Here's a new policy for you, but we now no longer offer full coverage for that vehicle.
----------
My old Ladies Car just this week.
Coverage canceled. Why.. None payment... How could she have none payment when she has an auto draft.
Ins. Agent. - Let me see.. Oh.. Somebody clicked one time payment on the computer screen instead of Auto draft. Did you do that?
No, the person at the end of the 1-800 allstate did? So since they made the error, does that mean that we get the policy back?
Agent.. Unfortunately No.. We have to start a new policy which will cost you $60 more per month.
We're sorry for any inconvenience.
I could keep going, but for some reason I think that you might be a Democrat, so I think that I will stop now.

It’s YOUR responsibility to pay your bill. You sound like a major dumbass
Sometimes underwriting guidelines change. Your policy can be grandfathered in and won’t be non-renewed. If you don’t pay your bill and it cancels, that’s your problem.
If your auto cancels and can’t be reinstated, it has to be rewritten at new rates.
Basically what I’m telling you is your whole line is bs

Oh that's a relief. For a moment I thought that you were going to defend Allstate.
So you get a mailed bill from allstate for 20 freaking years. And then they decide to stop mailing paper bills and go to Email.
You don;t think it would be courteous of your agent to at least call and tell you that so you would know?
Not only did it cancel, but it had to be carried by a whole new company to boot and in return Liability only.
Naw, I call it a nice little trick to stop full coverage on an older RV.
and then the error on my old ladies car. When the 800-allstate clerk set up the policy? You don't think that since it was his error that allstate should give her the same rate, for the same car?
No.. With each freaking instance here. Allstate comes out with less coverage, at a greater cost, all by (Cough, Cough), accidental errors.
I was born at night son, but it wasn't last night.

E&O highly discourages this practice

I ain't the one defending allstate... But I will be the one to say: "I Told You So."

Would it be nice for your agent to call, sure. Is it possible all the time with massive books of business? No. Is it still your fault? Yes.
Tell me, what company did they write it through? Are you using an independent broker?

I don’t like Allstate, but your reasoning is absolute nonsense.

Oh course it's my fault.. Non payment of Bill ultimately falls back on me, because I am the one that lost coverage in the end.
But for some reason, the policy that I've had for years seems to all of a sudden have some sort of "ERROR" and everytime the only answer is a higher cost to me. Funny how that has been working.
What I have been doing now has been paying the bills in Full so this problem is eliminated and all I do is now wait for the Renewal. Does it solve it completely? No.. But it's been helping.
I think the deal with my old ladies ins and 800 allstate person was intentional. He knew she would loose coverage and he flat our didn;t care. No biggie to him. He'd be long gone in 30 days anyway. He was just an unknown call center guy who didn't give af.
Really want to talk Insurance. Set me up with 1 million Commercial Gen Liability less than 7K for 6 months.

quote:A lot of agencies won’t do that because it becomes an E&O exposure for them. Once you set the precedent that you’ll call someone to remind them to pay their bill that the company already mailed or emailed them, now you pretty much have to call them every time a bill is due and keep a record/log of those call attempts.

The first time you’re out sick, on vacation, or something just slips through the cracks and that customer doesn’t get a phone call about their bill and a policy lapses and either can’t be reinstated or there’s a loss after the lapse, their attorney is going to have a field day against the agency’s E&O.

Yes... I get it... But I don't believe that you are understanding what I am saying.. No one is asking to be called regularly.
Situation. - Allstate mails a bill to same address for 20 years Via US Postal Service..
Allstate decides to change that policy that they will no longer use Postal Service and that all bills will now be sent via E-mail.
How am I to be notified of that change in Policy? Via Email?
Since I have multiple policies, on multiple vehicles with ONE agent for many years, don't you think that my Agent should at least notify me that Allstate has changed their billing procedures?
Just as an example... Do you check your Email regularly to see if your local TV stations are going to be changing their programing?

Maybe Louisiana could lawyer just a little bit harder and reign in these greedy insurance companies.

frick Allstate. They kept a vehicle of mine in the repair shop for almost two years and refused to total it. They spent double on the repairs than what the vehicle was worth when it got out of the shop. Screw ‘em.

My old lady broke her foot... We had to go to this medical place to get a boot because the hospital was out.
Now get this. This is what the owner of the Medical Supply place told us.
The Boot was $200 because she had Insurance. But if she didn't have insurance that very same boot was only $100. I don't remember what he said, but something something that the Insurance would have to be billed higher... I was like WTF???
But yeah.. I get it...

I’m not an Allstate agent fricktard. I said nothing about my office practices.
And spare with with your utter horseshite. Most of the people on here deal with 1-800 numbers, including WWII fricktard.
