Allen Edmonds having a factory seconds sale

I know some other folks besides myself were talking about hitting them up earlier this year, does anyone have experience with their factory seconds? I've heard pretty awesome reviews but am hesitating.

I went into a store today and bought a $595 sport coat for $95 or $99 bucks. Steal! Now I just wish I had some new shoes

I've had a few pairs.
Only issues I've had were sizing, and that's just because I couldn't try them on and the lasts may have been different than others I've had.
AE, for an otherwise consistent company, puts out a handful of shite designs every year, and unsurprisingly a lot of those end up as seconds or on clearance. Usually they're shite because the fit is messed up.
As for seconds quality though, no proble, I've never definitively found what it was that made the shoe a second.. Stick with the AE models that have been around a bit and I wouldn't hesitate.

What can y'all tell me about Cordovan? A nice new pair of the of the oxfords could really set off my winter suits but I don't quite get the point of paying extra for horse hide over cow leather.

The outside leather is softer and wears better and longer. The inside of the shoe also has a softer leather than the regular AE shoe.

Cordovan is super durable and very low maintenance. You can wipe with a damp rag and hit with a brush and it will look great. Rarely ever need a polish.
