You go to a restaurant and you'd like to wash your hands before you eat only to find you have to grab the nasty door handle to exit. What's the point of washing your hands if you have to grab the filthy handle on the way out? Think of how much it could save on health care cost for the country.

Wrong, more worried about people about to puke, $hit or piss pants.

Uhhhhh.....in round numbers about $2.00.
America is full of pussies that need to get Ebola and die.

Bathrooms shouldn't have doors in general. We all know what you're doing in there, no need to hide unless it's something nefarious. If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.

Until one hits you in the face as you are walking in about to crap your pants, and breaks your nose. There is your spike in healthcare costs

Electronic doors.
Except for south Arkansas where no doors are needed. Using a urinal once there when the cleaning lady came in to mop. She didn't hesitate, just mopped and said, "u aint got nothing I haven't seen before". could see the mop come between my shoes. Extremely low IQ population.
And....use a paper towel if u have to use door handle going out.

If bathroom only has air blowers and no paper towels, substitute with toilet paper.

Been to prison huh, breh?
Just because they use it in prison doesn't mean it's not a good system. For all we know, you could be prepping a suicide bomber vest in there. Doors on bathrooms are akin to directly supporting terrorism.

Yet, you grab a filthy handle, touch things for hours, then touch the most important part of your body.....but you want to wash your hands AFTER that and worry about the handle?

In theory if everyone washed their hands, then this shouldn't be a problem.
I have noticed that many places have started putting the paper towel dispenser and trash can next to the door so that, if you wanted, you could use that as a way to not touch the door and discard it using your foot or butt to help you prop the door as you leave the restroom.

Do you want that restaurant worker grabbing that handle on the way out?

You know you have this nifty thing called an immune system, right?

A bathroom door is the least of your worries. At least it may occasionally get cleaned. Have you every used an ATM? How about a ticket machine in a subway? They're the real disease vectors.
