I think Tennessee has allowed dual enrollment in HS and community colleges for a while now.

I've seen dual enrollment information in Tennessee since 1993, but it may have gone back even further. The most recent data I've seen shows a bit under 30,000 Tennessee High School students were participating in the dual enrollment programs in Community and Technical schools.

Early enrollment. I only had English 12 to take in high school my senior year, so I early enrolled at LA Tech, left HS at the end of my junior year, and got my high school diploma after taking two English classes at Tech.

Louisiana has been doing this since the 70's. I enrolled when I was 16 and had 21 hours of college credit when I graduated high school in 1975.

Didn't realize that this wasn't something available nationwide.

When I was in 8th grade (89-90) two of my classmates were taking freshman level math at the local highschool. By our senior year they were both taking math classes at Georgia Tech.
