The only one I actually enjoyed my kid selling was frozen cookie dough. That was great. And yes, I can have fatty tendencies.

Middle class
Early 30s
Wasn’t in clubs or extra activities. Didn’t have to raise money.

Is this just the PTO or does this apply to any organization within the school?

This is a great development. Now involved parents can direct their time and resources to fundraising efforts where it matters most - travel ball. Those championship rings don't pay for themselves.

I remember in the 3rd grade, our fundraiser was selling chocolate bars. Every kid got a box of 30, and you sold them for $1 each. It was optional, but if you opened the box then you owed the $30 no matter what. If you sold enough, you’d win some shitty prize. Well, I opened mine because all of my friends did, and my mom made me go try to sell them. I couldn’t sell all of them, so she took about half to work and sold them there. I turned the $30 in, and that’s when they told me I could request another box if I wanted to keep selling and win more prizes. My mom was pissed as hell when she got home that day and I had another box, already opened.

Actually, these aren't bad for $1.
