I used to stand all day in my old job. It's much harder than walking all day. But, you do get used to it.

This is what I found too. I usually walk 8 miles a day and never get tired/sore, but on the trip, I was walking 5-6 miles per day but standing still a lot.

It's hard if you're not used to it. After a while it gets easier.

My back, neck, hip, legs were all screaming, even though I walked less miles than I normally do in a day. Standing is much harder than walking, but i did discover that 800mg of ibuprofen helps a lot.

Standing and walking was not the problem.

Look in the mirror. Obesity is the problem. Say it.

On days where I have stand much more than I'm used to at work, I definitely feel it in my hips and back. I think having to wear professional footwear and having to assume a professional posture contribute.

That's rich coming from a Space Force Cosmonaut who wears a Fitbit rather than does PT.

i mean im only 40 and have an office job, but i have a standing desk and stand most of the day. its not that big of a deal to fricking stand.

if your hips, back etc are screaming from standing....then you are completely out of shape and more than likely extremely overweight.
