AEW has been in the red since day 1. Shad just likes watching his kids enjoy spending the money that came from his "rags to riches American Dream" success. AEW is being mirrored in Europe with the soccer team he owns.
If he's happy then just let the kid do what he enjoys. But don't be offended when people speak the truth when comparing products. I grew up in the AWA territory and HHH's product is closer to that than the flippy shite in AEW. AWA was almost a mirror of Mid-South and the Carolinas. To me AEW is closer to Olympic gymnastics and tumbling.
ETA: Max has been fortunate to be close to the Jericho orb than the Balding fricks orb. He's one of a handful of AEW grown stars who would fit in with WWE.

The High Flyers were good. Gagne was sure as hell better than B Brian Blair. If not for his dad owning the territory I think he would've went with Jim. After the raids in the early 80s there was no way he was going to leave his dad on his own. Larry Z only got the title in the late 80s because he was Verne's SIL. (Which was somewhat justified after Stan Hanson ran over the belt before mailing it back in '86.)
I've listened to almost all the shoots/pod comments related to the AWA in the 80s and the fricking government was as responsible for AWA's demise as Hogan & Co. Going into the 80s Verne could've pulled the trigger and went nationwide. His problem was having respect for the territory system. Meanwhile Vince Jr stabbed his Dad & his fellow businessmen in the back.
