And the cherry on top is Khan looks like an even bigger goober claiming he feared for his life during this altercation when there’s 10+ agents/wrestlers right there lol

quote:A thought about the "Tony mad at Dylan's kid because he cost him Punk" report. If he is really that mad at him, why would he want Anna Jay around every week? I've yet to read anything about a breakup. SRS might be on to something about this being an angle....a very poorly played out angle.
oh... some good booking ideas coming out of this on the SRS review show

He swung the first punch/kick (?), although its nearly not enough for people to care honestly.
I know I'm late to the part but he never denied that
He said Perry told him to do something about it and so Punk did
Idk, I know it's not how the modern world thinks things should work but to me if you tell a guy "to do something about it" and then he does what can you say?

The thing that makes the least sense to me is why show the footage then have FTR cut a promo talking about how stupid it was to show the footage?
This is just me talking out of my arse here but I wonder if the Bucks really wanted to show it but TK knew it was dumb so as a compromise he let them but then had FTR cut the promo? Thats probably nonsensical but I can't figure it out

It actually fits into the upcoming match between FTR & the Young Bucks in the tag tournament finals
The Bucks blamed FTR for being the "masterminds" of Brawl In so the Bucks would be too worried about EVP stuff and not focused on their own match against FTR
That's a crazy position to take, right?
That's where FTR coming out and saying 'why are you doing this' comes into play... they're the voice of reason and the common person
Bucks are petty, executive heels who are trying to deflect their loss the last time these 2 teams met by blaming it on the commotion caused by FTR's friend
FTR are basically the babyface voice of the fans saying 'don't rehash 9-month old stuff with people who aren't here anymore... we should be focusing on the title match in 11 days'
ETA: also... Bucks basically taking Perry's side and calling him a "good California boy" could be setting up Perry's return to AEW TV... perhaps to help the Bucks or even join The Elite
There will now be interest in Perry's upcoming NJPW match at a show in Chicago where you know Perry will be very negatively received... esp. after all this

I guess I just think there are ways they could've accomplished all of that without actually teasing or showing the footage which prolly would've saved them a good bit of criticism. That said most of those criticizing them prolly weren't gonna watch anyways and all publicity is good publicity to a point so I guess it's ok
I just don't think it's the type of thing a major promotion should do really but in truth it's probably not gonna hurt them at all and may help in small ways so it's fine I suppose

It seems like a stretch to make this about FTR. They're not in the video. Is the explanation that FTR told Punk to start a fight backstage for some reason? Did they think this would ruin the show? Is Punk just FTR's pawn now? He's some mindless drone? Makes no sense.

That was all stupid and anyone defending it is grasping at straws. It was just a dumb decision to air that footage.

Of course it makes no sense. If they wanted to use the footage for a story, it would have been done months ago. But tony wanted to respond to punk.
