I'm starting this thread early because I'll be at work all day with a soccer doubleheader
It's the show that AEW is hoping will become its version of Wrestlemania, Wrestle Kingdom, etc... All Out. Coming to us tonight from the Sears Centre in suburban Chicago... and is the main event of a day full of big wrestling events all over the world (more on that later)
Tonight's Card:
Inaugural AEW World Championship Match
Chris Jericho vs. "Hangman" Adam Page
Kenny Omega vs. PAC
Ladder Match for the AAA World Tag Team Championship
Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix) (c) vs. The Young Bucks (Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson)
"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes vs. Shawn Spears (w/ Tully Blanchard)
Winner Receives 1st Round Bye in AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament
Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta) vs. The Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson)
Triple Threat Match
Darby Allin vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Joey Janela
Riho vs. Hikaru Shida
Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy, & Marko Stunt vs. SCU ("The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, & Scorpio Sky)
Buy-In 21-Woman Casino Battle Royale with the Winner Advancing to the Inaugural AEW Women's Championship Match on the AEW on TNT Debut Show
The 12 Announced Participants - Dr. Britt Baker, Jazz, Sadie Gibbs, Teal Piper, Big Swole, Aerial Monroe, Brandi Rhodes, Nyla Rose, Allie, Yuka Sakazaki, Ivelisse, Awesome Kong, & 9 more participants yet to be announced
Tag Team Match on the Buy-In Pre-Show
Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) vs. Angelico & Jack Evans
now... on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean... there are 2 big events going head-to-head in the UK
1 is NJPW's Royal Quest show in London... headlined by Kazuchika Okada defending the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Minoru Suzuki. This show starts at 1:30 PM central time on FITE.TV
the other is the WWE's NXT UK brand holding TakeOver Cardiff in Wales... where WALTER defends the WWE United Kingdom Championship against Tyler Bate. This show kicks off at 1 PM central time on the WWE Network
plus I know it's the 1st full weekend of college football... so most will be watching that (esp. LSU/GA Southern)... but still a lot of rasslin going on today as well

Why would they choose to put their big PPV on the opening Saturday night of college football season?

All In was this same weekend. They are claiming Labor Day as their big weekend.
In case anyone's interested ROH tickets for the New Orleans show are now on sale.

No mention of CM Punk at Starrcast today.....that's a better booking than anything happening at All Out.

They did what I guess you could consider their first show this weekend a year ago.....I wonder if they don't rethink it for their tentpole event eventually.....who knows they sell a good amount of tickets but the PPV buys thus far have been average.....that could change when more eyes get on the product on TNT.

Rumor has it WWE is pushing for a deal to get NXT UK on USA or FS1.....it feels like they are overextending themselves....this is going to be too much wrestling for everyone to watch

I'm really hoping they succeed as wwe has become unwatchable for me, but damn there are way more blahs on AEWs roster than legit guys. Stunt, Dark Order, havoc, and those yellow body suit guys are all terrible and won't be stars yet we continue to see them on every card.
Meanwhile their biggest future draw MJF isn't even on the card tonight.

The real problem is that Cody, the Bucks, Omega, and Jericho continue to use the YouTube series to put themselves over.....they need to develop the guys you mentioned on that platform until TV comes around .....thus far they have really dropped the ball on that.....hopefully that changes on TNT because as you said there is zero reason to care about anyone on the roster outside of Cody, the Bucks, Omega, Jericho, Page, and Moxley.

They feature plenty of other guys on BTE and the Road to series. SCU in particular gets a lot of screen time. I would say MJF really made his name on BTE. Jungle Boy and Luchsaurus have been featured a lot in the last few weeks as well.

Yeah they definitely spread the love around on BTE. Exposure isn't the problem with those guys, it's the look and gimmick. You can't look at someone at Stunt and take him seriously. Uno is a fat slob in a mask and those yellow suit dudes are just trying to distract you from the fact they are super skinny with zero muscle tone. None of them look like stars.

But I may not be the target audience.

I saw them on there once last week.....prior to that nada....I know from that video that Luchasaurus thinks he is a dinosaur but I wasn't given any story on that....so I'm left to think he is just a dumbass....so in a way that just buried him. Now based on Jungle Boy's name and the fact that he can't talk i guess I'm supposed to infer that he was raised in the jungle like Mowgli....tell me the story!!!!
I've seen Darby Allin on the Road To once when he was having his botch fest with Cody at Fyter Fest.....no real story on why he is an emo baby and certainly not follow through so again it's like they buried him. I've seen Janela on there a little when he did his thing with Moxley but not since....also SCU get put over a lot I forgot to mention them.
But I have not seen anything on guys like Havoc, the other tag teams, Britt Baker, the 2 other Japanese chicks that are fighting for a spot in the women's title match, etc.....they could have done a whole lot better with that series.....like I said I'm hopeful it gets better when it goes on TNT.

I’ve been sitting here looking at the interviews and stories about CM Punk and his interviews about talking to WWE again, he’d never NOT talk to anyone. Then Starcade.....he loves to troll...
I honestly would not be shocked that he showed up at the end of the show and attacks Page (who’s going to win the first Champ.)

There's rumors that AJ Lee will be out to announce the women's title match after the battle royale. I would love to see MJF interrupt a Punk promo tonight. That would be Rock-Jericho levels of awesome. Don't really need to see Punk wrestle again. He embarrassed himself in the UFC.
