What is it actually like? must seem much harder then recruiter tells you. money seems like there is no celing but it seems like it can be very stressful, demanding, and burn you out.

How old are you?
Do you still live with your parents?
Do you know a lot of rich people?
Can you survive on 0 income for 6 months?

Depends on the company you are working for. There are some levels of training, and for most, you would have to get your series 7

Training? Sure.
Leads? No. They will want you calling friends from high school that you haven’t spoke with in 10 years.

If I was going to give it another try it would probably be at a place like State Farm where they can give you a small salary + commission. At least they do have internet leads and people calling in.

If you can ever make it through their process of owning an agency then you can be set.

But it’s extremely difficult and a grind anywhere you go.

Seriously —

It’s an industry with lots of potential but it takes someone with a strong hunter attitude and very thick skin. Don’t forget money to access for months up to a year while you build your business. Most of those who try it fail. That’s not to discourage you, that’s to prepare you. The odds are against you and if you don’t understand and accept that, you should t be in that profession in the first place.

You will have high marketing costs (“leads), high stress (regulation), and low income for a while. Don’t go into it with rose-colored glasses. Know the facts and what to expect. Good luck.

Is this the career where you immediately annoy your high school classmates to try to get them to be your clients?

No, this will not look good on a resume for a rail company or Disney.

Well with that attitude just keep looking elsewhere.

Unless you’re trolling, which I strongly suspect.
