What constitutes a "real holiday" and why?

We live in a subdivision that is one of the main trick or treating spots in our town. We’ll be handing out candy from late afternoon to 8:00 PM at least non-stop. I don’t mind it at all and even enjoy seeing the kids having fun.

What pisses me off though are the parents who dress up and bring their costumed baby who can’t even eat candy yet and expect me to give them candy that is obviously for them.

God forbid new parents want to get the experience of trick or treating with their child as many times as they can. As someone that came close to death, surely you could understand that.

Actual holidays, not ones that are just made up. Christmas and Thanksgiving are real holidays.

Literally the 2nd most popular holiday only to Christmas, a billion dollar industry, and has roots that go back as far as the 16th century.

But yeah...not a "real" holiday.

You should dress as a troll for Halloween.

"Have fun kids"
closes door
*ding dong*
"Great! More kids!
opens door
"Happy Hallowe-...what the frick is this? A baby? Oh hell no, now I'm pissed, I thought it was going to be a 6 year old. But a damn baby, you people are the worst. Get the frick off my porch you scumbags. You just ruined my night."

If you weren’t so decidedly miserable, you might get an invite to a costume party and actually enjoy yourself.

You sound like a miserable frick.

I don't see how anyone can be mad about women in slutty costumes.

You’re probably one of the fat arse, neck beard losers walking around with your equally fat arse wife begging for free candy that you both will later gorge yourselves on.

What Halloween candy do you think a baby can eat?

They are exposing their kids to a custom/holiday/tradition in a safe way. Training wheels, if you will.

Some adults have childhood complexes, I don't get it.

Definitely a big deal for women which I don't mind them dressing like their true selves......whores.

I can see this with a toddler. But when it’s a kid who isn’t even teething yet, you’re not exposing them to anything, you’re using them a a prop to get free candy for yourself.

Why? Just roll with it and help make people happy. Halloween is awesome

One of my neighbors passes out airplane sized liquor bottles to adults.

That wasn't my point. My point was you saying you get pissed off at something so trivial, is asinine. I would get it if you said all trick or treaters pissed you off but you specifically said couples with babies. But this is the OT so I shouldn't be surprised by people bitching and complaining about the most insignificant things.
