I have taken everything under the sun since second grade. I started on Focalin, then Ritalin, then adderall which gave me horrible mood swings, then concerta which I hated. I stopped taking all of it about sophomore year of high school until about three years ago. I had failed out of my first year of college and didn't want to do anything. I was out of college for a few years and just working. I started taking vyvanse and after two years I got four raises and started back in school and have had a 3.6 ever since. My biggest downfall of vyvanse (60mg) is that it makes me completely anti social when I'm on it. I hate that. On the weekends I don't take it and I feel great. But, I have enjoyed the raises and doing well in school so I will stick with it until I graduate and then look into lowering dosage. Full time student and full time employee.

Any of you that have dealt with it, or been affected by add only after adulthood? I've always had trouble concentrating and reading but made it through school. Just find it very difficult to stay on task now in my professional life and am easily distracted. Find myself thinking about other stuff one page into a book, etc. but doesn't sound as severe as some of your symptoms. Thx. I dated a girl once and could tell when she was not on her adder all, she d talk my forking ear off,and be bouncing off the walls.

I've taken everything as well, Ritalin, adderall, concerta, etc. Currently taking vyvanse and it's not too bad. Thing is all these types of drugs are essentially speed so they put you on edge. Still, I couldn't imagine trying to get through work without it...which freaks me out.

Focalin xr: Kicks in after about 30 min and for about an hour literally everything is good in the world. Then the xr part kicks in after about 4 hr and I get about half the original feeling. In between and after, I'm much more able to have conversations without wanting to be somewhere else, and my general mental and physical stamina and focus is incredible. I will be on it forever if it's up to me.

Um yeah, I've had it my whole life and so you know what I did? I got a career that challenges me and so keeps me as focused as I can be.
