basically just people projecting their personal beliefs/situation on the entire population. someone more or less quits vice at 20/25/30 so that's what everyone should do, or they have a problem.
Eh I'm an alcoholic and a drug addict and I have no problem whatsoever with people who drink or use drugs. Statistically like 80% of people can do so normally (without negative consequences). I just happen to be in the 20%. If someone just likes to go hard from time to time it doesn't bother me at all.

Simply keep track of how much money you save by not drinking.
For me it was a considerable sum.
Don`t kid yourself with that BS rationale of , well I can have one beer.
You sound like me. AA calls us episodic abusers.
You don't need help, you don't need to go to meetings.
You just need to do what I did and STOP DRINKING!
It ain`t that hard. I kicked a 50 year habit cold turkey.
Just do it.
You will not believe how much extra money you have laying around.
Good luck !

But by the time you hit 30, that every other weekend hangover shouldn't still be hanging on.
I am kinda confused on this hangover component here? I can understand cutting out drinking if it is impacting the rest of your life but to cut it out just because you get hangovers seems ludicrous. I mean drink some Pedia-lite and take a few Advils prior to shutting it down and stay hydrated while you drink should curb most hangovers.
I actually cut all drinking out during the week since I follow a pretty strict training/diet plan. My cheat day is Saturday and if I don't have something on the agenda for Saturday, you can bet your arse there will be some White Cans consumed and usually many of them.

How did you make the switch?
St. Pauli Girl makes a very decent tasting non-alcoholic beer.
I don't advise drinking beer out of bottles or cans.
I also can't vouch for SPG being a German beer brewed in strict accordance with the German Purity Law, however; but, it's a start to making the switch.
