There's no way I'm taking a chance of getting violently ill if I can help it. So you lose a few dollars worth of food. No big deal.

My 2 cents....
The meat will probably be OK especially after thoroughly cooking it. However, with that being said, I would not take the risk. Many foods are already suspect when they hit the shelves and I wouldn't want to compound the risk.

Leave it out a few more days and cook it for the first ever 2014 OT cookout party you are holding next week.

Last night I brought the groceries in, but got distracted and forgot to put them up. Pitched some ground beef, chicken and yogurt. The milk was laying on top of a bag of ice, so we're calling that salvaged. Chalked it up to experience/idiocy.

Eat it but smell chicken make sure it doesn't smell funky.

If it was really 35-40 degrees then it's fine. Most refrigerators are 36 degrees.

He could be killed in an automobile accident while going to buy the food again.
Better to cook it.

Some of you guys are pussies. If it doesn't smell funny, cook it and eat it.

If you have to smell something to see if it's "funky" or not, you shouldn't be eating it. It's got nothing to do with being a wimp or not. It's common freaking sense.
