Apparently you can become a multi millionaire in academia by criminal acts and not be prosecuted or made to give the millions back.
Dr Chandra was a researcher and faculty member at memorial college in canada. He was well known in academia and nutrition and published many paper in medical journals and did lucrative studies for baby formula and received many grants.
He ended up with many millions in offshore banks and foreign bank accounts.
His employee of many years reported him for faking the studies and papers that were in medical journals. He stole millions.
However the college decided not to do a damn thing about it because they didnt want to bring embarrassment on themselves.
