There very well may be portals lurking in innocuous things around us. What we see is not all that is there. Just as there is a visible spectrum of color, and a spectrum of hearing, there is a spectrum of existence. We can only perceive a certain range. But that does not mean things don't lurk on the edges...just outside our perception.

I've pierced the veil and seen wond'rous things. Terrible things. Things that are pure bliss and pure terror all rolled into one, staring with eyes that contain entire universes. I've spoken with the dead and seen the myriad Roads to oblivion and eternity.
When the blinders of reality are peeled back and the full spectrum of awareness experienced...when that portal between sleep and awake is journeyed into...a man realizes that what we see and hear and smell and feel is only the tiniest fragment of what IS.
