My daughter works there and told me the same. Sounds irresponsible not to.

Sure there is. He claims to work in admin, so maybe he knows they need a revenue booster. Walla... tell people to not get a flu shot. They take your advice, get REALLY sick and have to be admitted to the hospital. It's a revenue boosting scheme.

and show me where i once said for anyone not to get a flu shot. its their decision!
You said that nobody got the flu that you work with, except half the people who got the shot....... Oh, and their families too.
You basically said:
"Don't get the flu shot.... Unless you want yourself and everyone you love to get the flu."

i hadnt told anyone not to get the shot. Just saying i dont, along with over 60% of staff here and thats a fact. Its just a pesonal decision
Well then, I've just given you an idea to take to your revenue and reimbursement committee (or whatever your version of it is).

i basically didnt say anything. Was just stating facts from this years flu season so far at our hospital. ive known people that got the shot and got the flu "im sure everyone has" and ive known people who didnt get the shot and got the flu.
the vaccine is a guessing game and if they hit the strand right then it could work, if they dont.. then getting the shot wont help you at all. That is why 65% of people in the US dont get the shot, its a guessing game!

right..

Why don't you get the shot? You that afraid of needles?
Even though it doesn't protect from all strains it still offers better protection than not getting it.

Yes, you did.

No, you didn't.
There was nothing factual about what you stated.
You're full of shite.

Except this year, where half of everyone you know who got the shot, got the flu, along with their families........ And of those who didn't get the shot, none got the flu, amirite?

Thanks, genius.

No
Many people don't get the shot because they believe idiots like you who tell them about how the only people who get sick are those who get the shot.

not afraid of needles at all, get 2 allergy shots per week.
and i know what your saying about it protecting from all strands and completely understand. I just choose not to get it, because its a choice, along with the majority here where i work. I have gotten the flu shot before, felt like shite for 3 daya after and just hadnt got it since. My wife is a nurse in surgery and they are required to get it. I am not telling anyone not to, its their choice "unless their job forces them"

Nah...... Didn't you hear what he said?
The only people who got the flu that he works with, were people that got the shot..... Their families too.
People who don't get the shot, don't get the flu.
Duh

Shouldnt it be your choice.
Seems sketch to me
For hospital employees, building herd immunity is much more important. The typical person is just inconvenienced by the flu, but some people who are hospitalized/have compromised immune systems could have potentially deadly issues with it.

seemed like i needed to break it down for you

The good news is when you decided to be a dumbass you gave it 110%. You have been caught in lies, half-truths, you have changed your story, you have wiggled around like a worm on a hook. You win, OK everyone ole yeller wants everyone to know that if you get the flu shot you have a 50% chance of getting the flu. Please tell me what hospital you work for so if I am injured or sick I can bypass it on my way to a real hospital.

because someone in administration not getting the flu shot will or will not save you lmao
you must be one of those weak minded sheep that run and do everyting the tv tells you to. I dont know why you so mad, or dumb.. Im sorry you have a weak immune system and got the flu. I really am. Here's to you getting better little guy

all pissing match aside, i wasnt telling anyone not to get the flu shot. I just prefer not to. Our hospital does not require it "as of now, im sure its down the pipeline" and when it does i will get it. Those people who got it in administration and got the flu i mentioned is most probably a coincidence, i know people who got the shot and didnt get the flu, one being my wife. All i have said all along is personally i do not get it by choice, because it is not proven 100% to prevent the flu. Thats all

I never get the shot. 1. I hate fricking needles so i avoid shots when possible. 2. I have a good immune system and take care of myself so I don't feel the need to get one.

i work at a hospital myself, in admin part of one. In our administration suite there is probably 25-30 people. about 15 of them got the flu shot. Out of those 15 about 8-9 of them had full blown flu within 2 weeks, along with family members that got the flu shot. Out of those that didnt get the shot.... ZERO has had the flu
You should be fired for incompetence. Or at least demoted to janitor, assuming that isn't your job already.

and i would say you are dumb as shite! Because i work in a hospital and me nor any co-workers "have" to get the flu shot.
Then your hospital is violating JCAHO mandates. You get the flu shot, you wear a mask for 4 months, or you're terminated--no discussion.
Edit: Not violating, so long as 90% of the employees get vaccinated or wear the mask. But you're still stupid.
